Nokia and Carl Zeiss close agreement to manufacture phones photo

Nokia and Carl Zeiss lens manufacturer closed exclusive agreement for the manufacture of photographic mobile value-added and announced that a new, more advanced, would be launched this month. The companies announced on Wednesday (2) that the agreement will be valid for several years, and Nokia expects it will help the company compete more effectively with rival smartphone makers like Apple. Francisco Jeronimo, an analyst at IDC, said the deal is positive for the Finnish manufacturer of mobile phones, considering that the cameras have been playing increasingly important role in smartphones. “Manufacturers continue to improve the cameras with higher resolution, better focus and several other features that differentiate their devices in a busy market where all the smart phones equipped with screens Touch looks the same, “he said.

Nokia also announced that its first model using the new technology PureView cameras hit the market this month. The model uses a sensor of 41 megapixels Carl Zeiss , significantly more powerful than the ones employed in advanced cameras used by professional photographers. Analysts said the new model may face difficulty because sales will be released with the old operating system Symbian, which Nokia is retiring, although the company plans to adopt this technology for new camera models equipped with Windows Phone in the future. “We will continue developing the PureView for our future smartphones,” said Joi Harlow, vice president of smart products in Nokia.
